The Ann Richards School is a public, all-girls school in Austin, Texas, focused on college readiness, leadership, and STEM education. A majority of our students come from a low-income background, and many will be the first in their family to attend college.
A small group of our students has the opportunity to travel to the Dominican Republic (D.R.) this summer, where they will attend a weeklong leadership institute alongside other female students from the U.S. At the institute, they will meet with women from the U.S. and the D.R. who are working in the fields of health care, conservation, education, and human rights. They will also visit UNESCO heritage sites, and participate in community service projects.
Travel! The cure to closed minds! :-)
Because studying and traveling abroad matured me and made me who I am today. I think everyone should have this life-changing opportunity.
Because traveling in high school made me want to study Spanish and languages in college and I eventually became a high school Spanish teacher as well. Travel is worth every penny!!
I love her enthusiasm for teaching!
I believe in the what Ann Richards stood for and I believe in the mission statement of the Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders. Together the girls WILL CHANGE the WORLD!!!
